Height: 1 - 1.5 metres

Hardiness: - 20 degrees celcius; Zone 6b

Exposure: Shade or Semi-shade

Use: Low growing

A small, fast-spreading, hedge-type bamboo with slender green leaves bearing faint white stripes. The canes are bright yellow and when exposed to direct sunlight they turn bright red.

The culm sheaths (outer leaf protecting the younger canes) are cream colored and marbled with red patches.

This plant is one of the most colorful of all the small running bamboos. It prefers afternoon shade or dappled sun.
