The Fargesia Jiuzhaigou is a fairly new introduction from China and is still relatively rare in the UK (named after a park in Sichuan where the seeds were collected).
This clump forming bamboo has green culms when they emerge which turn slowly to a red/purple colour and eventually to a light orange.
This bamboo performs extremely well in semi or full shade and looks excellent in a container with its colourful qualities.
