The Robusta 'Pingwu' has a very attractive yellow & red colour on the culms when mature and has a very upright and stately growing habit. It grows taller than other Fargesia, develops thicker culms and keeps a good tight clumping habit. It is also dependably evergreen.
The colourful qualities of this bamboo, along with its very quick and well behaved growing habit, make it an ideal speciman plant to show off in the garden. It can also tolerate wind exposure making it a good choice for screening and hedging.
