Bamboo Phyllostachys Atrovaginata is also known as the Green Perfume Bamboo or insense bamboo as the leaves can often give off a smell like sandlewood.

This new and interesting bamboo has an erect upright habit and is ideal for wet soils as its rhizomes have hollow air channels which will allow Atrovaginata to survive where other bamboos will not.

This bamboo can grow quite large culms without growing too tall. Will grow to approx 8m in UK and the culms can reach 2'' diameter in a sunny sheltered spot.
