This bamboo has a dinstinctive short and dense habit and works well planted at the edge of woodland borders.

The leaves are dark green turning paler with age and sometimes the tips will bleach during the winter which can be quite attractive.

This bamboo works well in pots due to its short form with plenty of dense foliage. The only limitation to be aware of with this plant is its preference for acid soils and plenty moisture.
